Missing someone
My sweetheart is finally back. I am so happy, so happy to hear his voice, him calling me and showing interest in my life. I hate to admit it but when it comes right down to it I'm still very much a girl at heart, needing love and attention and to be pampered by a good man. Embarassing for a strong willed person like myself to admit it but it's true.

Canker Sore
rica. I have not seen that been sold for many years now. One day as I was chatting wtih my sister, she brought up her friend would use Aspirin paste for her canker sore. So I looked up this remedy on the internet and turns out this is an age old remedy that has been used by quite a few people and recommended. I tried it. Made some aspirin paste apply to the wound. Surprsingly, my pain was lessened almost immediately. The wound healed quickly as well in about 2-3 days. I have never been able to cure my canker sore with any over the counter medication. Later on, when I was visiting my dentist for a routine checkup, she noticed my canker sore and gave me a prescription to "Oracort". A dental paste to heal the wound and numb the pain. This is good stuff. But it can only be prescribed not bought over the counter which is a hassle. It does the same thing as the other pastes, form a seal on the wound and not allow bacteria to enter the wound. Therefore, would would close up very quickly. This usually took about 3 days to heal. Heals faster if you put more applications of the product. Just ran out of Oracort to my horror and this time I have a bad bad canker sore. it is located underneath my tongue. very very painful. I just squeezed out what I could out of the oracort tube which is mostly gone. Then went through my bags to find my bottle of aspiring. All of a sudden, i was very relieved. I know for sure now I can lessen the pain and cure it quickly. Just need to pound the aspirin first. Now, I have a reason to buy a pestal and mortar that I have been eyeing.
Two life savers:
1) Aspiring
2) Good old Pink Pepto Bismol

All the Hype about Marriage
Don't get me wrong. I am not opposed to marriages or married people. It is just sometimes when i hear the reality of marriage of what's going on in the actual lives of married people, it is not such a fun ride as advertised. We as young women were socialized to believe that marriage was the end all be all the pinnacle of success for a woman. This is not true as i entered into my 30s and started listening to what married friends say, what my mother says, what my relatives say.
Dinnerware Purchased!! One less item to buy..
Today finally plunked down and bought my dinnerware. I had been shopping for dinnerware for the past month or so. Been up and down the aisles of Canadian tire until I can recognize which is the dinnerware aisle. There's been quite a number of sales going on lately because it is the season for Christmas shopping. And today, thanks to mom who help me decide on a 16 piece Reactive glaze dinnerware set by Royal Oak. It is brown on the exterior and there's a rainbow of colors in the interior of the bowls and plates. Quite unique and beautiful. Plus it's a good price half off with another 10 percent off just for the Remembrance Day weekend.

Beautiful Song named BEN
I heard this song being sung by a cute little 6 year old on Britain's got talent, Connie Talbot. She's a golden child with such a sweet voice. Here are the lyrics to this song:
BEN
Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
with a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you my friend will see
You've got a friend in Me
I used to say, I and Me
Now it's us now if's we
Ben, most people would turn you away
I don't listen to a word they say
They don't see you as I do
I wish they would try to.
I'm sure they'd think again.
If they had a friend like Ben
Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
with a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you my friend will see
You've got a friend in Me
I used to say, I and Me
Now it's us now if's we
Ben, most people would turn you away
I don't listen to a word they say
They don't see you as I do
I wish they would try to.
I'm sure they'd think again.

A Great Meal Deserves to be Mentioned

Tonight we were celebrating my brother's birthday and so we decided to try this highly recommended Indian restaurant tucked in the corner of a suburban strip mall. The portions were generous and taste was authentic. When the weather turns cold like tonight, a warm bowl of curry warms up your entire body leaving you very satisfied with a warm tummy. The meal started off with some on the house papadums with a tangy sauce. For our main dish, we had Goat Briyani, Lamb Vindaloo, Lamb Saag, Tandoori Mixed Grill, and some rice, Garlic Naan, and regular naan. I followed up the meal with a soothing Chai tea.

My First "Le Creuset" Pot

Crazy crazy day today. Almost got scammed into paying $800 to replace a car part that I did not need replacing. All I can say is Scammer. These people are scammers. Thank goodness a family accquaitance who is also a car mechanic saved us from this mess. I realized one important thing in life is Knowing the Right people to do business with especially car repair shops. If you find a Good Honest Car Shop be a loyal follower. So glad now I found our True Honest Good Mechanic shop who has the gumption to help me poor little asian girl. Very grateful to them and they tried to make me feel better by joking around and treating me to cookies and coffee. This post is about my First le Creuset Pot so let me get back to the topic. Went to the mall today looked around for cookware, checking the prices of skillets and pots and all the different types of material. Cast iron, aluminum, enamel, stainless steel, t fal...i was so confused. In the end, I went around to all the home stores and finally ended up at Winners. At the pots aisle, I saw my dream pot the "le Creuset". Orange and about 2 1/2 quarts probably. Just the perfcet size. It was only sale for 99 dollars regular price was 150. How could I resist. There were cheaper replica pots however they were not a Le Creuset and they were not made in France. I know this may sound snobbish but this pot is for my first apartment so I would like to get a good quality long lasting pot. I was first introduced to this colorful pot by my roommate who had inherited a le Creuset from her grandma. hers was red I believe. I'd noticed that every time she used the pot it was great for stewing and browing. The color was vibrant and it had a French rustic look to it. So now I am a proud owner of a Le Creuset. Hmm..if only I could add to my collection. Now I need a Cast Iron Grill Pan and a Skillet and a Stainless steel pot.

Working out
lately i been trying to work out more and eat healthier. have not checked the scale as I keep getting dissappointed by the static numbers on the scale. However, I can already see the transformation in the mirror, looking back at me a refleftion of a toned and slimmer girl. now she just needs to get more self confidence and tell her sister ane her bf to f off haha
Frustrations
I tried my best but my sister and her bf still annoys the heck out of me. They seem to like to fake it in front of others to show how happy they are but it is very annnoying. I tried my best to accept him but I just do not like this person. I am not even sure why. maybe because he never really showed me any respect. I hate his attitude at times do not hate him. Stubborn and bald hehe that was a low blow but disrespectful. Never gave my sister time to have some sister quality time with me. Just seem to want to take over her life and control it just like another friend who's husband turned her into a Catholic. It's the same story again and yet my mom does not understand. She says you are just jealous. Yes but not in the way she imagines. I am jealous because my sister is not close to me anymore and every minute of her life revolves around baldie. She does not admit i but she takes his side to the extreme. I do not know how to deal with the sitaution when they move in or are married but at least then i have my own place and they will too so I can avoid them any time I like. Seems like I lost a sister instead of gaining another brother. what a pity

Decline in my english language skills
Slowly over the number of years, my english skills has been deteriorating each passing day. Not quite sure how this happened. There has been a loss of vocabulary and grammer, even the occasional spelling mistake has been popping up. Perhaps the lack of reading academic books. Maybe I should start writing more on this blog in order to improve my english language skills. I am also intending to improve my Chinese language skills and vocabulary. But unlike my english language skills, my Chinese language skills has improved over the years.
A close friend had always teased me about my "Canadian English" and the use of "broken english". I would never in a million years admit to being Canadianized much less adopting Canadian english but to my dismay, this indeed is happening to me. Slowly, slang words replace the actual words for certain items, adjectives mostly.

Sorry honey I am too busy
More and more often I am hearing "I'm busy now, I will call you later". I know he is busy with real work however, why do I feel anxious and neglected. I wonder if he will start to forget me soon. When you do not spend more time getting to know one another, you start to distance your partner. I need an emotional connection. I need him to make the time for me.
Am I important to you? Do you notice that I am alive? I know u care a great deal for me but lately I am not feeling that. All I hear is busy busy busy.

Trip to China
My trip to China was eye-opening. I did not know what to expect and I was served with a kaleidoscope of food, taste, lifestyle, and people. Everything seem to be in your face. It is a very lively country with a hugely multicultural populus which I never expected. There are supposedly 50 or so minorities in China and each have their own language, set of customs and culture which are drastically different than the mainstream Chinese Culture. Cheap massages, cheap food, cheapdvds, cheap shopping what can I say. All in All a Trip Well Vacationed.
Pepper Leaves
Over the weekend, I was grocery shopping at a Chinese supermarket and came upon these vegetables which I have not seen before. They were called Pepper Leaves. Any food item that has the "Pepper" word in it intrigues me. So I bought it. Took it home. Then I realized I do not know how to cook these "Pepper Leaves". Naturally, I browsed on Goggle to see what I can do with Pepper Leaves. Well, we will see what I can with it. Thoughts of pickling it came up. I love to eat pickles.
